Chats with Tracy!!

Updated: Nov 16, 2021

Hi,

I'm Tracy! I started Tasty Yet Healthy as a health journey for myself. I never actually thought it would work losing weight. I was trying to better my health and started losing weight. A little ways into my journey I decided to create an Instagram page Tasty.yet.Healthy (@tasty.yet.healthy) • Instagram photos and videos to track my progress and see the food I was eating all in one place. When I started eating a healthy diet I was 199 lbs. About a year and a half later I'm now at 134 lbs. What?!! That's right I've lost 65lbs. Its crazy but if I can do it so can you.

One day my husband says, "It's just unbelievable, nobody actually sticks to a diet and keeps the weight off. You need to share videos of what you eat with everybody." So, we started a YouTube channel. He is my director, and my oldest son is my editor.

We are self employed and stay very busy so its tough to stay on top of all the videos, but we try. I love sharing the things I eat everyday. I like trying new recipes. Not to brag but I am a pretty decent home cook. I love making food that my family will eat. So, it was tough changing my diet. "Will they eat what I'm eating? Will my kids like what I'm making? Will my husband rather eat fast food instead of what I've prepared?" But I made the change. I have had meals they didn't like. I have even had meals nobody wants to try. I've learned not to take offense to any comments, looks, or sneers. After sticking to my guns, I notice they have all come around to like MOST of my menu. They even now make request for healthy meals.

So, I have started this website to hopefully share more insight to what I eat, why I eat it, and everything in between. We did a YouTube video called Chat With Tracy -How I lost 60lbs. This is my basis of everyday eating. I live by it!! There is exceptions to every rule. But the day in, day out I live by.

1-No white.... I don't eat any white, enriched bread, pasta, or rice.

2-No fried food.... NOTHING fried... no fried French fries, chicken, okra, wings, etc.....

3-No soft drinks... Nothing artificial...no coke, no diet, no sugar free... go with sweet tea or water.

4-Eat slowly..... allow your body to digest as you eat. Don't overeat.

5-Include as many nutrients as possible. Eat a rainbow of colors everyday. I do try GBOMBS everyday=Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries, and Seeds.

Thank you for reading. See you soon for the next Chat with Tracy!
